Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could help the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
